Pondhop was founded by Duncan Sinclair after successful careers with Varco and PlantData. During his tenure at Varco he designed a successful mud cleaning system for use on drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and was instrumental in the opening of Varco's innovative e-Drill service center. The e-Drill system revolutionized drilling equipment monitoring in remote locations. At PlantData, a locally owned systems integrator, Duncan formed a new automation and control systems division. Under Duncan's guidance the division began to grow immediately with projects ranging in scope from a new water facility in Northeast Houston to underground gas storage facilities in West Texas and Oklahoma. When PlantData was acquired by a specialized cyber-security company; Duncan was able to take the division he built and found a new company - Pondhop Automation & Controls, Inc.
